Product Overview
Composition: EMPAGLIFLOZIN 10 MG
EMPACT 10MG contains empagliflozin. It works by blocking a protein in the kidneys called sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2). SGLT2 prevents glucose from being excreted in urine by absorbing glucose into the bloodstream as blood is being filtered in the kidneys. EMPACT 10MG is used to treat type 2 diabetes in adult patients (aged 18 years and older) that cannot be controlled by diet and exercise alone.
Uses
- Control high blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes in combination with a proper diet and exercise program
- Lower the risk of death from heart attack, stroke, or heart failure in adults with type 2 diabetes who also have heart disease
Side Effect
Common side effects:
- Hypoglycaemia (when used with sulphonylurea or insulin)
- Vaginal moniliasis, Vulvovaginitis, Balanitis and Other genital infection, Urinary tract infection (including pyelonephritis and urosepsis)
- Thirst
- Pruritus (generalised), Rash
- Increased urination
- Serum lipids increased
How to use
Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. Swallow the tablet whole with water .You can take the tablet with or without food.
