Description
A blood smear is a blood test that gives clear information about the number and shape of blood cells. It is usually done to see the abnormal cells of WBC,RBC and Plateles or Band cells in the case of cancer patients. It also help in diagnose the causes of unexplained jaundice, unexplained anaemia, unknown fever, and several infection in the body.

Test Preparations
The PBS smear test does not require any special preparation. You do not need fasting for this test. You can have your coomon or regular food as required. However, special food and drinks are to be avoided if prescribed by the consultant.
