Product Overview

Composition:  Tamsulosin (400mcg)

 

URIMAX 0.4MG CAPSULE contains Tamsulosin which belongs to the group of medicines called Alpha blockers. It is used in men to treat the signs and symptoms of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH).

BPH (also known enlarged prostate) is an abnormal growth or enlargement of prostate gland in aging men. It is caused primarily due to increased production of a stress hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Symptoms includes difficulty in passing urine, urinary incontinence (unintentional passing of urine), frequent urination at night, sexual dysfunction or painful ejaculation. During treatment with URIMAX 0.4MG CAPSULE, your doctor will constantly monitor your blood pressure and PSA levels (prostate specific antigen) to avoid the risk of unwanted side effects.

 

Before taking URIMAX 0.4MG CAPSULE inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have cataract or glaucoma surgery in the upcoming days.

How to use

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Urimax 0.4 Capsule MR is to be taken with food.

How It works

Urimax 0.4 Capsule MR is an alpha blocker. It works by relaxing the muscles around the bladder exit and prostate gland so urine is passed more easily. This helps empty the bladder completely and reduces the need to pass urine frequently or urgently in BPH.

What if you forget to take?

If you miss a dose of Urimax 0.4 Capsule MR, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Alcohol

Urimax 0.4 Capsule MR may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.
