Uses

  • -Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD): Omeprazole is often used to treat GERD, a condition where stomach acid flows back into the esophagus, causing symptoms like heartburn and acid regurgitation.

  • -Peptic Ulcers: Omeprazole can be used to heal and prevent ulcers in the stomach (gastric ulcers) and the first part of the small intestine (duodenal ulcers).

  • -Erosive Esophagitis: This condition involves inflammation and damage to the lining of the esophagus due to stomach acid. Omeprazole can help heal this damage.

  • -Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome: This rare condition leads to excessive production of stomach acid. Omeprazole can be used to manage the excess acid.

Side Effect
