Product Overview

Composition:  Metoprolol Succinate (23.75mg)

 

METOLAR XR 25MG CAPSULE contains Metoprolol, which belongs to the group of medicines called Beta-blockers. It is used to treat high blood pressure, angina pectoris (chest pain), and heart failure. It is also used to treat arrhythmias or palpitations, and to prevent heart attacks and migraines.

Avoid alcohol consumption while taking METOLAR XR 25MG CAPSULE as it lowers blood pressure. METOLAR XR 25MG CAPSULE is not recommended for use in patients with asthma, COPD, severe bradycardia, second or third-degree heart block, cardiogenic shock, decompensated cardiac failure, sick sinus syndrome (unless a permanent pacemaker is present) and untreated pheochromocytoma. METOLAR XR 25MG CAPSULE should be used with caution in patients with diabetes, stroke, liver or kidney disease, myocardial infarction, angina pectoris, and heart failure.

How to use

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Metolar XR 25 Capsule may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Avoid Metolar XR 25 Capsule with high-fat meals such as olive oil, nuts & seeds (Brazil nuts), dark chocolate, butter and meat.

Metolar XR 25 Capsule is a long-acting beta blocker that works specifically on the heart. It works by slowing down the heart rate and makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood around the body.

What if you forget to take?

If you miss a dose of Metolar XR 25 Capsule, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
