Composition: Cefepime (500mg)
MAXICEF 500MD INJECTION contains Cefepime which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. It is used to treat bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, urinary tract, genital tract, skin and soft tissues, stomach, biliary tract, blood and the brain. It can also be used in combination with other antibiotics to treat fever among patients who have low white blood cells in the body.
Before receiving MAXICEF 500MD INJECTION inform your doctor if you have a history of asthma or allergic conditions (such as hay fever). You must also inform your doctor if you have any kidney problems as a precaution. Talk to your before receiving MAXICEF 500MD INJECTION if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Treatment of Severe bacterial infections
Side Effect
Common side effects:
- Injection site reactions (pain, swelling, redness)
- Diarrhea
- Increased white blood cell count (eosinophils)
- Injection site phlebitis
- Skin rash
- Increased liver enzymes
- Positive Coombs test
- Increased prothrombin time
- Decreased phosphate level in blood
- Increased partial thromboplastin time (PTT)

How It works
Maxicef 500mg Injection is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by preventing them from forming the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is needed for them to survive.
Safety Advice for Maxicef-500mg Inj
Allergy
Talk to your doctor before receiving MAXICEF 500MD INJECTION if you are allergic to cefepime or to any other beta-lactam antibiotics (Ex. amoxicillin).
Pregnancy
MAXICEF 500MD INJECTION should be used in pregnant women only if it is considered necessary by the physician. Therefore, consult your doctor for advice before receiving it.
Breastfeeding
MAXICEF 500MD INJECTION should be used with caution among breastfeeding women. Therefore, consult your doctor before receiving it.
