Product Overview
Composition: FERROUS ASCORBATE+FOLIC ACID 100mg+1mg
Iron Capsule,tablet and syrup is commonly prescribed for the treatment of anaemia, iron deficiencies, megaloblastic anaemia caused due to lack of folic acid, poor diet, poor absorption of food and folate deficiency.
Uses
IROX is used in the management of:
- Iron deficiency anemia
- Menorrhagia and folate deficiency anemia
- Foetal neural tube defects
- Anemia due to pregnancy and lactation
- Generalized weakness
- Iron deficiency either due to chronic blood loss or poor absorption
Side Effect
When taken as advised by your doctor, this tablet does not cause any side effects. However, when consumed in excess, it may lead to skin rashes, stomach discomforts, diarrhea, and vomiting. Also, taking too much of this supplement can interfere with the absorption of some other nutrients like zinc and Vitamin B12, leading to its deficiency in the long run.
How to use
Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. Take IROX after food. Swallow the tablet whole with some water.
Do not chew, crush or split the tablet.
How It works
Ferrous ascorbate (iron supplement) and folic acid (a form of vitamin B9). FERROUS ASCORBATE+FOLIC ACID works by increasing red blood cells (RBC) and haemoglobin (a protein) production in the body. As a result, an adequate number of RBC is produced in the body, so that body's each tissue gets sufficient supply of oxygen.
