Product Overview

FIXIM 400 TABLET contains Cefixime which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. It is used to treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, sinus, respiratory tract (bronchus, lungs), urinary tract, biliary tract and genital tract. It can also be used in the treatment of typhoid fever.

Uses

It is used to treat various bacterial infections such as:

  • Ear infections (Ex. otitis media)
  • Sinus infections (such as sinusitis)
  • Throat infections (such as tonsillitis and pharyngitis)
  • Respiratory tract infections (such as bronchitis and pneumonia)
  • Urinary tract infections (such as cystitis and kidney infections)
  • Genital tract infections (such as gonorrhoea)
  • Stomach and biliary tract infections (such as cholecystitis)
  • Typhoid fever

How to use

 Swallow FIXIM 400 TABLET with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.

How It works

FIXIM 400 TABLET is a powerful antibiotic with bacteriostatic properties. It kills the susceptible bacteria by blocking the bacterial cell wall synthesis. Unlike other cephalosporins, it can also remain unaffected by the toxic proteins produced by the bacteria (such as beta lactamases). Collectively, these actions destroy the susceptible bacteria, prevent their further growth and multiplication and reduce the severity of the infection.

What if you forget to take?

If you forgot to take a dose of FIXIM 400 TABLET, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is time to take the next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next one at regular times. Do not take a double dose to compensate the forgotten dose.
