How It works
Enoxaparin is a low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) that works by inhibiting factor Xa, a clotting factor in the blood. It binds to antithrombin III, enhancing its inhibitory effect on factor Xa, which reduces the production of thrombin and prevents new blood clot formation. Enoxaparin also indirectly promotes the breakdown of existing clots. It is used as an anticoagulant to prevent or treat blood clots in various medical conditions. Close monitoring may be necessary in certain situations.
